Eastern Iowa's Premier Outlaw Country Band

Catfish Murphy is bringing the best of Outlaw Country, Southern Rock, Americana, and Texas/Oklahoma Red Dirt to Eastern Iowa.  

The band has been touring taverns, clubs, honkytonks, and festivals across the state since 2014.  Early on, the group noticed a lack of their favorite genres of music being represented in the local live music scene.  They took to the road hoping to find like-minded fans of the bands they enjoyed, including the Turnpike Troubadours, Drive By Truckers, Sturgill Simpson, and Cody Jinks.  They were not disappointed as music lovers have come out in full force to support the band and their distinctive style of music.  

Catfish Murphy’s high energy shows feature innovative guitar solos, catchy riffs, and an impressive range of vocal talents among the group.  Typical shows include covers from classic country icons (Waylon Jennings, David Allan Coe) to alternative country staples (Jason Isbell, Chris Stapleton) and classic rock legends (Tom Petty, Bob Seger).  Drawing inspiration from these artists, Catfish Murphy has introduced several new original songs into their lineup.  It is a testament to their performances that Catfish Murphy is repeatedly asked back as recurring performers at previous venues.
